Crofton will be taking part in Heritage Open Days again this year on the weekend of 13-15 September 2019
Heritage Open Days is England’s largest festival of history and culture, bringing together over 2,000 organisations, 5,000 events and 40,000 volunteers. Every year in September, places across the country throw open their doors to celebrate their heritage, community and history. It’s your chance to see hidden places and try out new experiences – and it’s all FREE.
Crofton will be open for Heritage Open Days as follows:
Friday 13th September: 10:30 – 16:30
Saturday 14th September: 10:30 – 16:30
Sunday 15th September: 10:30 – 16:30
On these days there will be freeflow admission to the Engine and Boiler Houses and an opportunity to view the prototype of our new interpretation scheme. In addition, timed guided tours of Boiler House and Engine House are available at 11:00, 12:15, 13:15 and 15:00 each day. No advance booking necessary. Entry is free, but donations invited. The engines will not be in steam this weekend.
