Crofton by Night Saturday 27th September
Watch The Stars at Night
We will be holding a special evening event in addition to our normal daytime steaming day. We’ll be running our two beam engines into the twilight with lower than normal lighting in our engine house. This will give an impression of Crofton in the Georgian era when it first operated.

Crofton is located in a ‘dark skies’ area so to help us celebrate our evening steaming when it is fully dark, local astronomers from the Newbury Astronomy Society will have their telescopes set up for visitors to marvel at the heavens (weather permitting!).
There will be Astronomy talks and an exhibition in the Side Boiler House. Once it is dark there will be plenty of opportunity to view the night sky. Please dress warmly and do bring binoculars.

Site open from 18:30. Last admissions to Station 20.30.
Light refreshments available from 18:30 until 20:30 at Pizza Lola.
