Early May Bank Holiday Steaming

01 May 2022 - 02 May 2022
10.00 - last entry 15.30

Step back in time to the Sights & Sounds of Steam on Sunday 1 May and Monday 2 May 2022 – 10.00am – 4.30pm

Online booking for Bank Holiday Monday 2 May is no longer available; but don’t despair! Although the morning is fairly busy, we have good availability for visitors after 12.00 noon.

Advance purchase of timed tickets is recommended for steaming days. A pre-paid timed ticket will guarantee entry.  Advance tickets to book the time best for you and your family can be purchased for future Steaming Days.

The café is closed but visitors are welcome to bring a picnic to enjoy overlooking the canal and railway.  The picnic area is not under cover.  No refreshments are available to purchase on site. Please note that the only access to the site is via the main gate opposite the car park. No access from the lower canal entrance at lock 60.

On steaming days there is a charge for entry to the grounds.  The admission charge includes entry to the pumping station for a self-led tour.  Adult tickets £10.75 (£12 with Gift Aid).  Accompanied children under 16 free.

Our online booking system is provided by Art Fund, a free online ticket booking service for UK museums and galleries. Discounted tickets are available to National Art Pass holders on steaming days. Discounted entry is also available for Members of the Kennet and Avon Canal Trust.
