This is a non-steaming event. Free entry.
It’s Heritage Open Days in September, with an inspiring theme that could have been designed especially for Crofton! Every September thousands of volunteers at venues across England organise events to celebrate our fantastic history and culture. It’s your chance to see hidden places and try out new experiences – all of which are FREE to explore.

Step back in time at Crofton Beam Engines for FREE and explore this hidden gem in Wiltshire’s history.
Though the Station will not be in steam, visitors can explore each room showing off 200 years of history. With our new interpretation panels and dedicated knowledgeable volunteers, visitors can learn the fascinating history and engineering of the site, all whilst inches away from the technology that makes it all tick. Children’s crafts on the Astounding Inventions theme will be available to pick up in the grounds or if you can’t wait to see them …
