Winter Works Open Day – Saturday 7th March

A special opportunity to see how we maintain our engines, pumps and the boiler. This maintenance work is carried out to preserve Crofton and to ensure we can run our mighty engines in the summer season so visitors can experience the true power of steam.
Our knowledgeable volunteers will be on hand to guide you round the site.
Free entry to the Beam Engines, suggested donations of £5 per head would be welcome since looking after Crofton is an expensive business!
Visitors are also welcome to bring a picnic to enjoy in the grounds overlooking the canal and railway.
Visitors can access the site via the main gate opposite the car park or through the lower canal entrance at lock 60 and up the steps. The pay and display car park will be open on Winter Works Open Days.
