Most people arrive at Crofton by car and there is ample parking. However, it is also possible to come by train. The nearest station is Bedwyn on the main line from Paddington to Exeter. There is a very pleasant walk from there of around 3 km (2 miles) along the canal, which is adjacent to the station. Take the towpath in a westerly direction , cross the canal at lock 60 then take the tunnel under the railway line and the steps up to the pumping station. The site is also approachable directly by canal, of course. Cyclists are also welcome and we have space to park cycles.

Access for Disabled Persons
By the very nature of the pumping station, there is only very limited access for wheelchairs although we try hard to accommodate them in certain areas. Also, there are many steep staircases which might make looking round difficult for anyone relying on a walking stick or crutches. The café is fully accessible, of course.
Dogs on leads are welcome in our grounds but, except for assistance dogs, are not allowed in the café or engine house.
