75th Anniversary of The Kennet & Avon Canal Trust. June 20th & 21st
The Kennet and Avon Canal Trust is our parent charity, and we will have a special exhibition of the history of the canal and Crofton’s restoration.

We will be visited by Hannah, one of the Canals specially adapted boats for the disabled and will have various activities for children and adults to celebrate this momentous occasion.
As well as the Kennet & Avon Canal Trust celebrations on site. You will have your chance to see the historic beam engines in steam. They once played a significant role in the operation of the Kennet and Avon Canal, helping to supply water to the highest point of the canal network.

You can either book online or buy your entrance ticket on the door. We will always have plenty of room for visitors.

Visitor Information
On steaming days only the “Smithy Tea Room” offers visitors light refreshments and delightful spot to relax during your exploration.


Visitors are also welcome to bring a picnic to enjoy overlooking the canal and railway.

Access to the site is via the main gate opposite the car park or from the lower canal entrance at Lock 60 and up the steps.
Well behaved dogs on short leads are welcomed on site. Only assistance dogs are allowed in the buildings.
