Great Easter Steam Up

The world’s oldest fully operational pumping station is in steam from 10:30.

See our 1812 Boulton & Watt and 1846 Harvey Beam Engines doing their original job back pumping the Kennet & Avon Canal.

Eatser Chicks

Easter Egg Trail, Duck Race and make your own or bring an Easter Bonnet.

Prizes for completing the trail, the fastest and slowest duck in the race and best bonnet for both children and adults.

Site open from 10:00 Station from 10:30. Last admissions to Station 15:30.

Light refreshments available from 10:00 until 16:30 at ‘The Smithy’ Please see our website for further details

Admission Prices

Any remaining tickets will be sold on the gate on the day.

Visitor Information

Visitors are welcome to bring a picnic to enjoy overlooking the canal and railway. 

Please note our picnic area is not under cover.

There is a charge for parking.

Access to the site is via the main gate opposite the car park or from the lower canal entrance at Lock 60 and up the steps.

Well behaved dogs on short leads are welcomed on site. Only assistance dogs are allowed in the buildings.
