Heritage Open Days Virtual Open Day

Friday 10th September 2021

Virtual Tour of Crofton Beam Engines: 1000-1100 & 1300-1400 & 1430-1530 Our Cornish Connection Talk: 1130-1200

Join us for a day of virtual tours around the Crofton Engines and a talk on Our Cornish Connection over Zoom.

Learn about how and why the station came to be from the comfort of your own home with one of our virtual tours. Our experienced talk and tour leader will guide you around the Station explaining the history and engineering of the site and how it came to be, with a chance to ask any burning questions at the end.

Our other online talk, Our Cornish Connection, starts with the delivery and installation of our Harvey of Hayle engine in 1846. The talk explores the people associated with the engine, those who migrated from Cornwall to Wiltshire, and some of the families connected with Crofton Beam Engines over the years
