Lady in cockpit of aircraft at Boscombe Down

Visit to Boscombe Down

In early December last year Simon and I took a trip down to the Boscombe Down Aviation Collection at Old Sarum to meet with Special Events Manager Trevor Marks.

We were given a tour around the various hangers, learnt about the range of aircrafts on display, and met a few of the dedicated volunteers who work on the collection. If you have an interest in aviation, then this is the place to go!

The museum itself is very hands-on, and visitors have the opportunity to sit in a selection of cock-pits throughout the packed hangers, giving them an up-close experience of what it was like for the pilots of that time.

I was lucky enough to be allowed to sit in  the one of these cockpits during our visit, it was a bit of a squeeze, but I thoroughly enjoyed the experience!

We’re very much looking forward to working with the Boscombe Down Aviation Collection on our 2019 events programme as well as for other events in the future!
