Sunday 9th & Monday 10th April
Step back in time to when steam ruled all this Easter Weekend and explore this hidden gem in Wiltshire’s history. Learn of the station’s history, and its restoration. Speak with volunteers in and around the Engine House. Discover the engineering challenges and the people who overcame them to build the canal and make sure that it had a plentiful supply of water.
Whilst looking over the Kennet and Avon Canal and Wilton Water Reservoir explore the grounds with our Easter Egg Trail, enter the duck race or pick up a Easter Craft Inspiration booklet* to take home with you. Perhaps enjoy a picnic on our picnic benches to the sound of 200 years of living history.
*Easter Craft Inspiration booklets will be available on site as well as to download on this page from Monday 3rd April 2023.

We will be open on both Easter Sunday and Monday, from 10:30 am 4 pm. All proceeds from the pop-up will be donated to Crofton, helping ensure it’s future.
Please note: This refreshment offer is in it’s trial stage. It is not yet confirmed whether it will be offered at our other 2023 Steaming events.
Visitors are welcome to bring a picnic to enjoy overlooking the canal and railway. Please note our picnic area is not under cover.
