restricted steaming: Saturday 30 & Sunday 31 July 2022

30 Jul 2022 - 31 Jul 2022
10:00 - 15:00

Steaming on a Summer Weekend

Due to ongoing problems with the available water situation for the Kennet and Avon Canal there will be restricted steaming on 30 and 31 July 2022.  Last entry to the engines at 15:00.

There are tickets available to buy at the main gate for morning and afternoon visitors.

Online booking for Sunday 31 July has now closed. Thank you to everyone who has booked in advance. It really helps!

On steaming days there is a charge for entry to the grounds.  The admission charge includes entry to the pumping station for a self-led tour.  Adults £10.75, including car park charge. (£12 with Gift Aid).  Accompanied children under 16 free.  Discounts for Kennet and Avon Canal Trust members and National Art Pass holders.

Advance booking is always recommended for steaming days. A pre-paid timed ticket will reserve a place at the time that suits you. Opening times 10:00 – 16:30. Last self-led tour this weekend 14:45, with last entry to the engines at 15:00 (due to the problems with the available water situation for the Kennet and Avon Canal).

Visitors are welcome to bring a picnic to enjoy overlooking the canal and railway. No refreshments are available on site.

Please note that the only access to the site is via the main gate opposite the car park. No access from the lower canal entrance at lock 60. That gate is locked.
